Powertrain versus broader coverage for a BMW
Compare contract language and exclusions rather than assuming that a plan name describes every covered component.

Powertrain coverage commonly starts with major mechanical systems. Broader contracts may list additional systems or use exclusionary language, but neither label tells the complete story.
Questions for each level
- Which engine, transmission, drive-system, cooling, steering, braking, electrical, or technology components are named?
- How are seals, gaskets, diagnostics, labor rates, pre-existing conditions, maintenance, and wear handled?
- What limits, deductibles, waiting periods, and authorization steps apply?
“Bumper-to-bumper” does not mean every part or repair is covered. Read the contract’s definitions and exclusions before choosing a level.
